To be set free, to run wild is a desire I believe we all possess.
In much the same way, most of my artwork over the years has been about breaking free from constraints.
From the explosive imagery of my Hypermass series to the skin-shedding release of my Rapture drawings.
My new series "Relics of the Wild" is no different. I want it to be a window into a state of wild freedom.
To allow your mind to run free, even when the circumstances of your life have you on too short a leash.

Whether it be my early days living in Manchester, where I created energetic and colourful paintings in reaction to the dreary concrete rain-soaked streets.

I'm moving house.
I'm getting married.
I'm expecting my first child!
Because of this I've felt a strong need to remove all extraneous noise from my life.

I often feel a longing.
To be away from the modern world.
Away from the screens.
Away from the endless emails.
The infinite scrolling.
The distractions.
The constant car noise.
The grey concrete
and all those perfectly straight lines.
I feel a calling.
To be out amongst old growth trees, surrounded by cresting hills or resting beside a murmuring stream.
